Pelvic muscle dysfunction, including both urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, sexual dysfunction, and chronic pelvic pain affects women of all ages. Although these are generally not life threatening conditions, they can have a significant impact on your patients’ quality of life. As a women’s health care provider, it is important to address these concerns and recommend evidence-based treatment opportunities. Research supports the use of non-surgical interventions as the first line approach when treating these conditions. Studies have shown that a comprehensive pelvic floor rehabilitation program including supervised pelvic muscle conditioning, behavioral modification, and education combined with pharmaceutical options has greater efficacy than pelvic exercises alone. At Southern Arizona Center for Pelvic Health, our focus is only on female urology and sexual health issues. We don't offer primary care or general gynecologic exams. Our board certified provider has experience and specialized training in urogynecology, and has been empowering women for more than 7 years in programs much like this.
If you have patients experiencing frequent UTI's, chronic bladder or pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, or urinary/fecal incontinence, please consider a referral to Southern Arizona Center for Pelvic Health.
